Allison’s story (in her own words):
Changing my diet changed my life. I am a two time cancer survivor. After undergoing chemo, radiation and stem cell replacement, I was told that my immune system had been compromised and that for the rest of my life I would have to receive monthly blood treatments via IV to keep my immune system in check.
Year after year, I asked my doctors (yes that is plural) if there were any alternatives to the monthly IV treatment as it was taking a toll on my veins and would end up getting stuck 4-7 times. My doctors responses were always the same, no.
As an alternative to being stuck so many times for the rest of my life, I tried a central port. After having three ports put in and none of them worked, I was desperate to find a solution. I found a doctor who practices alternative medicine. During my first visit he told me I was allergic to gluten and eating gluten was the culprit for my compromised immune system.
For the past year, I have been eating gluten free, sugar free, and organic and have never felt better. Over the past year I have not had to receive a monthly treatment in over a year and have not been sick. Wish I would have known that a simple change in my lifestyle by living and eating healthy would have such a huge impact on my life, I would have done it ten years ago.

I too have changed my diet. I gave up gluten, dairy, alcohol and all preversatives. It has been the most difficult thing I have ever done. I hope that this boosts my immume system too. I didnt go through chemo, or radiation but my doctors really wanted my too. I am glad earth fare is here in Greenville. I have no one to ask questions and they have helped me a great deal.
After reading Kimberly Snyder’s book “The Beauty Detox Solution” I am starting (actually today, a day after Halloween and eating so much sugar from my kids’ candy) I am going to gluten-free and sugar-free for 3 months. I hope to do it for my health sake. I just want to feel more energized.
