It’s here — Our second annual Take Our Tomato contest! We can’t wait to see what you come up with!
The Take our Tomato contest is a photography contest – with a twist. We’re looking for the best photos of Earth Fare TOMATOES that we can find. Get creative! Send your tomato on an adventure, and send us the proof. Email your submissions as a .jpeg to information@earthfare.com, or upload them to your own blog or flickr and send us the link. We’ll notify our winners by August 10, 2010. Check below for more details, and then go take your best shot!

*No purchase necessary to enter Earth Fare’s Take our Tomato Contest. Contest candidate must be over the age of 18. In submitting a picture and/or acceptance of prize constitutes permission to use winner’s name and/or likeness and picture submitted for purposes of advertising and trade, worldwide in perpetuity, without future compensation. Can we submit more than one picture?
Your tomatos are being packed as I type in preparation for our family vacation…..

can they be photoshopped at all? didn’t see any address to that issue in the rules … thanx!
@chickypea, while there’s no official rule against photoshop, we’ll probably favor a creative unaltered shot in this photography competition.
I’ve read your email over and over trying to figure out what do you really mean. “You want the best picture of your tomatoes” is it the tomatoes in your logo or the tomatoes in your store, you want a redesign of your Logo, or someone to walk in to your store with a camera and take photos of your tomatoes …. How stupid is this email which expect every to be familiar with your unheard of contest ….
Just can’t believe it
@Stv – Ideally, we’d like you to buy tomatoes from our store, although they can also come from your garden or anywhere else one might find tomatoes
From there, you get creative! Bring them along on vacation, dress them up, juggle them…as long as your photo is of an actual tomato (and not a logo or drawing), the rest is up to you. Sorry we didn’t make that more clear in the email. I hope this helped!
Earthfare is a great place to shop. The produce, the meatmarket, the help…….Jonnie (meatmarket) always pleasant and helpful. Susan the (manager) always ready to please, no matter what the request.
EARTHFARE

Efficient in their operation
Edible samples all around

EARTHFARE
Thanks, @Susanne!
WHY GROW MY OWN TOMOATOES WHEN EARTHFARE HAS LOCAL AND ORGANIC ONES WHICH SURPASS ANYTHING I COULD GROW….AND A MYRIAD OF OTHER TOMOATO CHOICES.
@Mary Louise Hear Hear!
How about a recipe contest using Earth Fare tomatoes.
@Karen Great idea! We’ll keep that one in mind
So many tomatoes….so little time…I’m starting NOW! Thanks for the fun adventure invitation!
how many entries can we enter
@k as many as you’d like!
I’m not sure I quite understand. Do you have to use tomatoes bought at Earth Fare in the photographs, or do you use the tomato in Earth Fare’s logo?
@Hannah — The first one!
We’re looking for fun photos of actual tomatoes – NOT the Earth Fare logo.
@Tricia, you sure can!
I’m a bit confused; how is it that it’s “no purchase necessary” to enter the Take our Tomato contest, but yet Earth Fare says that they are “looking for the best photos of Earth Fare Tomatoes that [they] can find”? So I can use my home-grown tomatoes instead of buying one at Earth Fare??
@holly n, you bet! While we’d love it if you got your tomato from Earth Fare, tomatoes from your garden are just as welcome
@Tonya, yes! Just be sure to let us know in your email that you’re an Earth Fare employee so we put your photos in the right category
I just want to say that i absolutely Love shopping at Earthfare;so much so that i’d love to work there!….I walked away from the medical field and now, with the help of Earthfare, i am eating more healthy and attempting to work in a more healthy environment….any suggestions for obtaining a job with you guys?! Thank you
@kat the best thing to do is ask at your local store! You can also keep an eye on our job postings here: http://www.earthfare.com/OurCompany/Careers.aspx
Greetings and salutations, can Earthfare employees submit photos? Please and thank you!

)
Is there a limit on the number of entries each person can submit? It looked like people are submitting several photos. Thanks!
@Amanda, you can submit as many as you’d like.
BEST THING AND PLACE SINCE SLICED BREAD . JERRY
Is this contest open to professional photographers?
@Wendy, it’s open to anyone with a tomato and a camera
Is there no category for a 14-year-old? My son would like to enter.
@Sherri, the contest is for all ages – no age categories. I’d love to see what he enters!
Is there a way to check to make sure my photo was received? Thanks : )
@Shannon All our entries are in this flickr set: http://www.flickr.com/photos/earthfare/sets/72157624311090793/
I don’t have any from your email address yet – I’ll email you directly.
I am trying this out to make sure my photo will get through to you.
@Gigi, you’ll need to email your entry to information@earthfare.com
How are the photos judged? Does it matter how many people look at your photo in Flickr and if they mark it a favorite or not?
Stacey – nope! Photos are judged here at the Earth Fare home office by our staff.
