World Cup Bracket 3: Germany Versus the U.S.

Next up in the World Cup knockdown – Germany!  This soccer powerhouse are large and in charge – literally!

On the World Health Organization’s list of the most overweight countries, Germany ranked fourth – right after the U.S.  And, there’s more to these similarities than just the percentages.

Germany is considered the most overweight country in all of Europe.  This stigma comes from their consumption of too much beer and too much fatty foods.  More than half of German women and nearly 75 percent of German men are overweight.

But, the U.S. doesn’t have any reason to gloat.  Over 64 percent of U.S. women are overweight as well as over 72 percent of U.S. men.  And, when it comes to fatty foods, we’re in the same boat.  Our favorite foods – burgers, pizza, French fries, etc. – are loaded with high fructose, trans fats and salt, and we’re eating WAY too much of it!

So, where does the U.S. stand in its match-up with Germany?  Well, it looks like neither will advance to the knockout round.  What do you think?
