Success on the Health Journey
Anu’s Story (in her own words):

We are a family of “conscious” eaters and a global palate. My husband and daughters are all engaged in informed decisions about food choices. We eat organic food including lots of raw fruits and vegetables, whole grains, nuts that are raw, sprouted legumes and foods that go with annual seasons and match our individual body constitution. A lot of greens, alkaline foods and natural body balancing nutrition help us take care of our health. We are a very active family and all of us have different interests- my husband plays golf, my daughters have active day with PE, gym, swimming and dancing. I am a regular with YMCA, Pilates, yoga and nature walks. We do not eat pre-cooked, pre-packaged, frozen or micro waved foods.
I cook food from all over the globe and all of it is fresh, cooked on slow flame using old cooking methods and utensils. When it comes to food, we never rush it or compromise of quality and taste. I use tagines for not just Moroccan food but for many different cuisines. We do not use plastic, non-stick cookware, no-microwave but instead use utensils made out of ceramic, glass, cast iron and steel. We also juice daily and ensure we balance raw and slow cooked foods. We cook foods from India, Japan, Morocco, Mexico, Thailand, Italy, Greece and lots of other global cuisines. This widens our choices and keeps both cooking and eating fun. Following a routine is as important as exposing your palate to different flavors, cuisines, spices, vegetables, fruits, grains and foods. This adds both color and diversity to food we eat. For us food and active lifestyle is for nourishing our mind, body and soul.
We are what we eat and this enables us to lead a well balanced a life. I am glad we have Earth Fare which is well stocked with great food choices.

We have subscribed to healthy eating within the last year (no dairy, no wheat, organic, etc.). I really need recipes on how to cook and/or prepare a variety of vegetables. Can anyone help?
Thank you so much! You are an inspiration. I appreciate all the information, which helps clarify what choices are available. I am trying to move to a more raw foods diet, and would love some receipes, if you have any to share.
