Today, Earth Fare launched its Itty Bitty Bites™ program, which aims to eliminate childhood obesity in the communities it serves. That’s right. Earth Fare is doing its part to respond to the urgent public health crisis.
Itty Bitty Bites™ is a fun, educational program that inspires kids to make healthy lifestyle choices. Through heroes and villains, trading cards, a comic book series and activity sheets, kids learn about good versus bad ingredients and the importance of their food choices.
Villains vs. Itty Bitty Bites Heroes
Villains: High Fructose Fred, Transfat Tina, Artificial Artie
Heroes: Ghett Active, Chef Fresh, Farmer Diggit, Bea Active, and Ranchhand Rita
In our last post about marketing unhealthy foods to children, we discussed all the unhealthy food with BAD ingredients that are being marketed to kids. Kids get excited about these foods because these foods are guised as fun! Well, don’t you think our kids have paid enough of the price with their health? Earth Fare thinks so. So, we’re doing our part to end this obesity epidemic by making healthy eating fun!
Yes, it’s time to make eating healthy and living healthy fun. It’s time for kids to learn about where their food comes from, what ingredients are in their foods, which are good ingredients, and which are bad.
That’s what the Itty Bitty Bites™ program is all about.
The Itty Bitty Bites heroes are here. Are you ready for the revolution?

Good for you !!! Teaching children healthy eating habits at a young age is the secret to ending the childhood obesity problem. Americans have become to use to fast food and convenience of eating bad food. I am so happy that you are in Johnson City so that adults and children can choose healthy food. Keep up the good work.
Hi Bonnie, Thank you for your comment! We agree that educating children is very important. And, we have made it fun! We are really excited to have launched this program and we really hope we will affect children’s lives.
