Hi all -
Wade (Earth Fare’s Produce Director) always tells me, “Go big, or go home!” This week, I am going home with my head hung low…my health journey has been full of road blocks – barriers that keep me from, as Wade would shout, “Going BIG, BIG, BIG!”
Step one: Get active. I am slipping, slipping, slipping. And, justifying every minute of it…It’s too cold. It’s too dark. I don’t have a treadmill (and I am too baby to run outside). I’m too busy! I need some tips…Anyone? Anyone?
On a good note: I have a physical scheduled for October 23rd (Jack is making me). My last physical was 12 years ago (I hate doctors). I will report back on the results, and we can track my progress right here…stay tuned!
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

Ronald,
My suggestion would be to join a fitness center for two reasons: 1) Forces you to make a commitment both with your time and your money and 2) Helps you to establish a routine of working out. The later is essential is critical. Once your body knows that it’s going to be expending physicial energy about the same day of time at least 3 times per week, you’ll start to crave that workout slot like a candy bar! If you would to really get in shape and push yourself, get a personal trainer through your fitness club. It’s a good investment for your most precious asset — your health.
Good luck with ALL that!
In regards to “slipping, slipping, slipping”. You need a training partner, someone to help keep you motivated and focused. It makes exercising so much more enjoyable.
Try watching Biggest Loser! It inspires me to eat better & get more exercise. May work for you too!
I’ve considered joining Rush Fitness since team members get a discount. I just need to get off my rump and get back to it. I was doing good for a few months and then {bam} I couldn’t get out of bed to go run. I blame the cool morning weather………but again that just an excuse. Tomorrow is a new day!
Thanks for your comment,
Ronald
Ron, try writing a list of fitness goals on a list and tape it to the bathroom mirror. You will have to look at it every morning and get inspired. Good Luck.
You are absolutly correct! I’m trying to get Tammie (my girlfriend) to join in my morning run, but it is difficult with a 16 month. Maybe I’ll change my routine and start running in the afternoon.
Thanks
Ronald
